Amputee asked for more proof for Blue Badge renewal

Nigel Ward, a 71-year-old wheelchair-bound amputee with one leg, has had his Blue Badge parking permit application denied by Norfolk County Council. The council has requested further proof before granting the badge, which Ward claims will make his journeys troublesome. He believes that an increase in fraudulent claims has resulted in heightened scrutiny for genuine applicants, complicating the renewal process for those with legitimate mobility needs and causing significant distress to the elderly man.
