Blackpool, Sheffield, Milton Keynes and Wrexham shortlisted for UK city of culture 2029

Blackpool, Sheffield, Milton Keynes and Wrexham have been shortlisted for the UK City of Culture 2029 title, selected from an initial longlist of nine. Each shortlisted location will receive £125,000 to develop their final bids before a winner is announced in the new year. The eventual recipient will secure a £10million windfall to fund tourism projects, aiming to stimulate local economies, enhance civic pride, and provide entertainment for the residents and visitors of the chosen city.
