Building starts on new railway station

Construction has commenced on a new railway station in Waterbeach, which is being relocated further north to accommodate the development of up to 11,000 new homes. Meanwhile, in York, the Gothelie Station has opened as a specialised gift shop. This establishment was specifically designed to emulate the appearance of the city's historic railway station as it looked when it first opened to the general public in 1877, blending commercial retail with local architectural heritage.
