City lawyer pleads not guilty to insider dealing charges

Richard Bloomfield, a 38-year-old former Goodwin lawyer, has pleaded not guilty to five counts of insider dealing in London. The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) alleges that Bloomfield utilised confidential information obtained during his professional role to trade in the assets of the maternity-wear company Seraphine Group. These charges, first revealed by the FCA in July, relate specifically to the acquisition of the fashion brand, with the legal professional denying all allegations of insider trading.
