The Pitt and ER are similar enough for Michael Crichton’s widow’s lawsuit to proceed, court rules

A US appeals court has unanimously ruled that a lawsuit filed by Sherri, the widow of Michael Crichton, can proceed to a jury trial in 2027. The court found clear and numerous similarities between the medical dramas The Pitt and ER, rejecting an appeal from Warner Bros Television (WBTV). WBTV had argued for two years that the shows were unrelated, but the judge determined The Pitt is effectively a reboot of the 1990s series ER.
