Driver jailed for colliding with and killing cyclist

Vasile Barbu, a Romanian van driver, has been jailed at Cardiff Crown Court for causing death by dangerous driving after colliding with 52-year-old cyclist Rebecca Comins in Monmouthshire. Following his conviction, Barbu has lost his deportation appeal. In a separate incident, Yasin Khan was also jailed for killing a cyclist. Norfolk Police reported that Khan was travelling at speeds of up to 59mph within a 30mph zone at the time of the fatal collision.
