France braced for more riots as half a million set to protest

France is preparing for widespread demonstrations as approximately half a million people are expected to protest. Authorities anticipate potential attacks on state symbols and public buildings, alongside opportunistic lootings. In response to fears that protesters might defy existing restrictions on demonstrations, the government is deploying more than 70,000 police officers across the country. These measures come one week after nationwide riots, as the state braces for further unrest and significant disruptions to public order.
