A Halfords branch has been fined following the death of employee Niall Fawcett. The incident occurred in August 2024 on a slip road at junction 7 of the M56 near Bowdon, Cheshire. Investigators report that Fawcett was fatally injured when a truck he was repairing fell on his head. The legal action follows the fatal accident where the worker was killed while working beneath the vehicle on the M56 slip road during the repair process.
