This occurs as state pension payments exceed the £12,570 personal tax free allowance threshold. Additionally, HMRC intends to reclaim two DWP payments from millions of state pensioners. This follows last winter, when 10.9 million individuals received the Winter Fuel Allowance, with payments ranging between £100 and £300, which are now subject to these recovery measures.
