Producer Jerry Bruckheimer has confirmed that Johnny Depp is in talks to return as Captain Jack Sparrow for a sixth Pirates of the Caribbean film. Despite the actor previously stating under oath during his defamation trial against Amber Heard that Disney had dropped him from the franchise, Bruckheimer revealed that they are currently working on a screenplay. The producer expressed hope that an agreement can be reached to bring the actor back for the upcoming movie.
