Keir Starmer announces he is standing down as MP

Sir Keir Starmer has announced his decision to resign as an MP. This move follows his recent departure from the role of Prime Minister just a few weeks prior. By leaving the House of Commons, the former prime minister intends to shift his professional focus towards international affairs. This transition marks the end of his tenure in domestic legislative politics as he prepares to engage with global issues and diplomatic matters on an international scale.
