Kennedy Center names the 2026 honorees as Trump renovation battle moves the show offsite

The Kennedy Center has announced its 2026 honorees, naming Paul Anka, David Foster, Andy Garcia, David Mamet and Barbara Mandrell. Despite these selections, the institution remains in turmoil due to a renovation battle involving Trump. Consequently, the ceremony will not take place at the Kennedy Center and has been moved offsite. This decision comes as the organisation navigates internal conflict while continuing its tradition of recognising distinguished artists and performers through the annual Kennedy Center Honors event.
