Man jailed for stealing and killing pet ferrets

Jenny Cannon-Smith, a preschool treasurer, has been jailed for stealing £29k, an act the court described as a betrayal of her local community. In a separate case, Axel Read received a prison sentence after stealing two pet ferrets from his neighbour. The court heard that Read subsequently allowed dogs to kill the animals. Both individuals have been imprisoned following these distinct criminal offences involving theft and, in one instance, the death of pets.
