Man 'sexually obsessed' with stepdaughter jailed for her murder

Nathan Owens, 34, has been jailed for at least 35 years for the murder of his 19-year-old stepdaughter, Carla Georgescu. Owens drove 100 miles from the North East to her university halls in Preston, killing her the day before her birthday. The court heard that Owens held a one-sided sexual obsession with the victim and engaged in sexual acts with an effigy. The judge described the North East man's actions as despicable during the sentencing.
