More than 82,000 without power as Storm Boelo batters UK with 84mph gusts

Storm Boelo has battered the UK with 84mph winds, causing extensive travel chaos, blocked train lines, and closed A roads. Over 82,000 homes have lost power, and footage shows floodwater coursing through a Scottish town. An amber wind warning remains in effect until 9pm, arriving shortly after the season's first named storm departed the south-west. The severe weather has left hundreds of thousands of residents without electricity while disrupting transport networks across the region.
