Police did not collude with Robert Hamill attackers, inquiry finds

An inquiry has concluded that the RUC obstructed the investigation into the murder of Robert Hamill. Mr Hamill, a 25-year-old Catholic, died after being attacked by loyalists in Portadown, County Armagh, in April 1997. While the findings state that police actions hindered the probe into the killing, the inquiry specifically found that the police did not collude with the attackers who beat Mr Hamill, leading to his eventual death in the incident.
