RAYE wins 2026 Mercury Prize for album This Music May Contain Hope

RAYE has won the 2026 Mercury Prize for her second album, This Music May Contain Hope, which was released in March. The jazz and soul-influenced artist became tearful while collecting her trophy tonight. Her ambitious work beat strong competition from other nominees, including Suede, Florence and the Machine, and Sir Paul McCartney. The judges were impressed by the record, leading to this victory for the songstress at the prestigious annual music awards ceremony.
