Saudi Pro League club Al-Taawoun received a two-game stadium ban and a fine of nearly £20,000 following a match against Al-Hilal. The sanctions were imposed after fans directed chants regarding the late Diogo Jota towards Al-Hilal midfielder Rúben Neves, a former teammate of Jota at Wolves and Portugal. During the game, Neves was seen gesturing to the sky as the chants occurred. Ronaldo had previously called for lifetime bans for the supporters involved in the incident.
