'Serious failings' found in council social housing

Reports have identified serious failings within the social housing services of Woking Borough Council and Tamworth Borough Council. In Woking, twelve per cent of council homes fail to meet minimum standards. Meanwhile, Tamworth Borough Council faces concerns regarding the oversight, tracking, and reporting of essential safety work. Consequently, an action plan is required for Tamworth to address these systemic issues and ensure that housing services are managed effectively to protect residents and maintain safety.
