Essex teacher jailed for 10 years after posing as teenager on Snapchat to groom and assault girls

Syed Ahmed, a 38-year-old Essex teacher, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison by Southwark Crown Court. The court found that Ahmed posed as teenage boys on Snapchat to groom girls aged between 13 and 16. He was convicted of multiple child sex offences, including rape and sexual assault. In addition to his prison term, the judge imposed a three-year extended licence period following his release to ensure continued monitoring of the offender.
