Wetherspoons issues statement after Army veteran turned away from pub for 'wearing a poppy'

Wetherspoons has issued a statement after an Army veteran was turned away from The Star pub in Gosport, Hampshire. Footage reveals the man was denied entry for wearing a poppy, which staff claimed could be political. Other members of the group were similarly told to remove their poppies before they were permitted to enter the establishment on Sunday afternoon, sparking fury over the decision to ban veterans from wearing the symbol within the boozer.
