Yemeni militants attempted to utilise Anthropic AI to develop ballistic missiles, according to a new AI misuse report. A cell of threat actors in northern Yemen sought to leverage the Claude chatbot to manage three separate weapons development programmes. Although the missile tests reportedly failed, the incident highlights significant limitations in existing AI safeguards. These individuals are the same terrorists responsible for launching attacks against US ships operating within the Red Sea region.
