Yorkshire Water given lowest environmental rating

The Environment Agency has assigned the lowest environmental rating to South West Water, stating the firm is performing significantly below target regarding pollution. Similarly, Yorkshire Water, which provides services to 2.4 million homes, has also received the lowest environmental rating. The company has acknowledged that its current performance is not where it needs to be. Both water firms are facing critical assessments concerning their environmental impact and failure to meet established regulatory targets for pollution control.
